I try to be quite candid here on my blog, and I wouldn’t want it any other way. It’s time for me to share some personal and kind of embarrassing information, but I believe it’s necessary. I have put on at least 30 pounds over the past five years, and I am feeling the effects. I am 5′5″ and my frame doesn’t carry this extra weight very well. I know that 30 extra pounds is not the end of the world, and I have been fortunate to not have had more of a problem. But it’s time for a change, and it’s time now!
My husband and I are embarking on a weight loss journey that I have full faith and confidence in, and I am looking forward to the results. As of yesterday we started Medifast, and I can’t wait to share our adventure. We’ll be posting the good, the bad, and the ugly. I am starting with both of our weights, measurements, and before pictures. Please be kind, this is really difficult for me to admit to anyone, let alone make it public knowledge.
Liz: Before
Weight: 158
Clothing Size 12
Waist: 34 1/2″
Hips: 42 1/2″

Jason Before:
Weight: 395
Waist: 60″
Hips: 56 3/4″
So, far our first day was honestly difficult, Jason and I are both used to stuffing our faces, and eating late night snacks. The food from Medifast has all been tasty so far, and I can already tell that today is going better than yesterday. Stay tuned for updates, and shrinking people! Do you have any tips or advice for us?? Do you have a successful weight loss story?
Thanks so much to Medifast for providing both Jason and I with a full month’s worth of products to aid us in our weight loss journey at no charge to us. I will always include my honest opinions, and provide a candid review of Medifast. I haven’t been monetarily compensated in any way.

Liz, I admire you for posting something that I know from experience is difficult. Though I want you to know you are beautiful the way you are and when I see you I don’t see an overweight chubby girl. However, since it is a personal perception and no matter how much someone tells you that you look great if you don’t feel it you will never be satisfied. So I support you 100% in your endeavor to become healthy and happy!
@Desiree Thanks so much for the encouraging words!!
Bravo! I think you are courageous for being so transparent and will be checking in regularly to cheer you on! Miki

I just have to agree with some posters above, You look great now, but I do know that if you are not happy with what you are that makes your feelings, I myself did Medifast and loved it. Let me tell you that just get past the first 3-5 days and you will notice that you no longer have hunger and your energy is thru the roof! Medifast has done so much for me, made me healthy, strong and off so many meds it was crazy, I no longer have the back pain I did, I could go on for days, but I also started almost 200lbs , now I am in the 120’s. Good luck to you and if you need anything or have any questions that I can help you with I will be here for you and your hubby!!
My wife and i have also started our journey on Medifast. Today, Sunday, Aug. 29th is day 7 of the diet. I had a tough day on day 3, but I was in the Gulf fishing for 12 hours and survived on 4 shakes. I am so happy to report as of this morning I have lost 14 lbs ( in just 6 days). I started out at 240 lbs. and today I was at 226lbs. I will log my weight loss for the week in the morning, still have today to lose more. Keep focused and it will work. I have not been really hungry since I started the plan and it keeps gettng easier every day. I will incorporate gym workouts and bike rides starting tomorrow. I wish you both success. Feel free to email me with questions or for support if you wish.
Sincerely, Don Parker
