After a little convincing, my husband agreed for me to go to Blissdom in a couple of weeks. I’ve taken quite a few “blogging” related trips in the past year, so my husband is starting to get just a tad bit apprehensive about me trekking off again. But alas, he caved in and gave me the go-ahead. I am looking forward to Blissdom for more than one reason. Of course the standard answer of it’s a great way to get a break from normal everyday life, and a little relaxing break from housework is always true. But it’s more than that for me, I don’t really worry about taking breaks as much as I used to, I’m okay with being at home and being a Mom, that’s what I chose, isn’t it? No, I am looking to expand my horizons at Blissdom and find just that….my bliss. I want to be so much more than what I am as a blogger. I read other blogs and I am swept away by their eloquence and beautifully penned typed posts. But I feel that I am lacking something to achieve that status, and I’m not quite sure what it is.
I have really enjoyed my last year or so reviewing products, and heck, what person wouldn’t enjoy receiving free items in exchange for a little ole write-up on their blog? But I get tired of being boxed into the category of “review blogger”. Ohhh, you’re a review blogger? Interpreted to mean: “You’re one of the greedy ones who just copy and paste out a couple of press releases to gain products-not a real blog.” I’m tired of this same old song and dance, and quite frankly I’m feeling like all the reviews and whatnot are getting a little mundane. Don’t get me wrong, I do enjoy the products, the opportunities, as well as the open doors, but it’s come time for me to spread my wings a little and take a slightly different flight.
I am ready to learn, and to soak up the knowledge that other’s so willingly offer to pour out at the Blissdom conference. I am ready to take on new frontiers so to speak, and start writing for me. I might be the only one reading it, but by golly I will be true to myself. I’m not totally giving up on the reviews/giveaways, I’m not completely crazy. But, I know that when I lay awake at night, ideas swirling through my mind about ideas for posts, it’s time for some change. And it’s time to put the wheels of creativity and right-brained action to work.
I do look forward to meeting and making new friends at Blissdom, as well as hanging out with old friends as well. I hope that Blissdom provides just the jumpstart and motivation that I need to blossom into the blogger that I know I can be.

Awwwwwwww! You’ll have a great time! I’m jealous.
You’ll have to find Laura there, for sure.
Lizzy that was so well written. You are well on your way.
Thanks for your honesty, Lizzy. I can’t wait to watch as you discover your “bliss” and share it with us all.
Have a wonderful time @ Blissdom!

I’m so glad you got a ticket! I can’t wait to meet you!
Just saw your comment on the BlissDom FB page.
I, too, am looking for a ticket.
I, too, am going even if I DON’T get a ticket!
Wanna have lunch one day ? We might have a lot of time on our hands…and it’d be cool to hang with a fellow blogger!
Let me know! (Becoming a follower of your site!)
Found your blog through Metropolitan Mama’s blog and saw this post as it pulled at my heart. I just started into the blogging world. Just started into blog reviews. I love it, but like you I want people to remember me for something more than just reviews. I’m not at Blissdom this year and I don’t know if I will be next year. I’m just praying for God to guide me in that direction. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and I hope you are having a fun time!
