Makeover!

by Lizzy on January 9, 2010 · 28 comments

in General, personal

I had the amazing opportunity to receive a Drastic Makeover yesterday in Dallas that will be featured in a local Dallas Magazine titled La Mode.  I was so open to the chance for some major changes, so I jumped in without any hesitation.  I love my current hairstylist, and she always does a great job, but the opportunity to be totally made over without spending a penny, and be featured in a magazine to boot, I just couldn’t pass it up! Here are a couple of before and after shots, I will receive some of the official photos from the photographer after the magazine goes to press.

I never realized what a Jay Leno chin I have, lol! Oh, and thanks Nikon D5000 for showing all of my blemishes!

And Another:

Liz New hair

I can’t remember the last time I had hair this dark, or this short! My husband was not a happy camper at first, but the new look is slowly growing on him.  I enjoy the hairstyle, even though I feel more “secure” with longer hair, but hey, it grows, and for the time being, it’s something fun and different.

I have not only received a new look as far as hair and some makeup tips, but I am currently working on losing 30 pounds so that I feel healthier and feel better about myself as well.  I will post periodic updates on my weight loss as it progresses, I have currently lost 7 pounds since I started at the end of December, and hope to reach my goal by April.  I haven’t started my Couch to 5k training plan yet, but bright and early Monday morning, I will begin.  So, if you feel so inclined, feel free to tweet, comment, or facebook me and keep me accountable!  My husband is also on a big journey this year as he aims to lose 100 lbs.  He is already down 14, I’m so proud of him, I have confidence that we can do this together!

So, what do you think about my new look, be honest, I can take it!

Thanks to Blaine’s Color, and Rachelle, for the wonderful makeover, and thanks to La Mode Magazine for allowing me to be a part of your upcoming issue!

I love it. I don’t think your husband’s “butch” term is right at all. You look adorable!

LOVE it! looks so good and it shows in your smile! You look SOOO happy. I know the feeling about having your long hair be your security blanket, I am the same way, but really lovely! Well Done!

I think you look beautiful both ways, but I like the blonde long hair on ya better! :) but you’re right… it grows back so change is good every once in awhile!

Honestly, I need an outdoor picture to compare.

Let me preface with, you don’t look hideous or anything. You’re cute no matter what color your hair is. But I think I like the blonde hair better. Maybe it’s the purple that’s throwing me off.

And you definitely don’t have a Leno chin.

I think the color makes your skin tone really shine and your eyes stand out more. I do like it a little longer overall but the swingy bangs make your cheekbones look fantastic! If you end up grow it out, you should totally keep those layers…

Your look is awesome! I know the feeling when the hair gets chopped off! I always feel kind of naked~ missing something………I do like your new look and if you really can’t adjust to it- hair does grow! Seriously, your new look is stunning and very uptown! Glad it’s growing on your hubby, as well.

I LOVE IT, Liz! It’s very dramatic, but very becoming on you. I really, really like it. Such a fun treat!

Very cute! It always takes me a week or so to get used to a new style. Good luck with the weight loss. I’ve done the C25K program twice now, and I am definitely NOT a runner.
