I am joining in on a new Photo Meme from Our Ordinary Life. Here is an explanation of Los Fotos from Kristin:
Every week bloggers will be asked to post a picture and/or story about the week. Or month, year. Throughout the year I will add in special contests and prizes for bloggers who participate. Have fun with it!

This is my sweet Papa, and my middle son Seth on Christmas Eve. This is one of the few times my Papa has been able to leave the Veteran’s Center where he lives. My Papa is living with Alzheimer’s, and by saying that he is living, yes he is alive, but his quality of life is rather pitiful. I am not a very good Granddaughter, I drive by the Veteran’s Center daily, and I rarely stop to visit him, it’s just too darn depressing. But I love my Papa, and I am so thankful for God allowing him to be “my” Grandfather, and I am grateful that my children have had him in their lives as well.

Maybe this will inspire you to visit more often…it was just what you needed? You are lucky to be able to share him with your kids.
Visiting from Las Fotos.
Beautiful Memories you’re making. Don’t think of yourself as a Bad Granddaughter, Alzheimer’s is such a hard disease for those who have to stand back and watch. My hubby just lost his Grandmother to the disease a week before Christmas, and he avoided visiting as much as possible. Keep you favorite memories of him close.
I don’t believe that you’re a bad granddaughter, you have to keep him the way that you always want to remember him. I can understand how difficult that can be. (((hugs)))
Oh Liz – that is a truly special picture….and priceless. I agree with Casey and Jen. Please don’t beat yourself up. I think this post says so much -you love him dearly and it shows. (hugs)
Aw that’s a great picture! I don’t think you’re a bad granddaughter in the slightest, Lizzy.
Aww that is a wonderful photo. Him and Seth look alike!
